Business and Financial Strategy — CAPPA can assist clients in developing standard business documentation including an Executive Summary, Business Plan (including competitive analysis and strategic plan), Financial Plan, and Financial Models in preparation for fundraising, merger & acquisition negotiations, or some other strategic goal.

Financial Analysis, Consulting, and Negotiation — Managing Directors of CAPPA are charter holders and candidates of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA). CAPPA has extensive experience in fundraising, valuation, mergers & acquisitions, and accounting. CAPPA financial services include:

  • Fair Market Valuation — CAPPA can assist clients with Fair Market Value analysis of their own entities as well those of prospective M&A partners, providing critical information for M&A and funding negotiations.
  • Fundraising and Merger & Acquisition Consulting — CAPPA can help clients at any stage find venture capital, private equity, or possible M&A opportunities.
  • Negotiation — CAPPA can participate directly in fundraising or M&A negotiations to help clients close a deal with favorable terms.
  • Accounting and Financial Advisory Services — CAPPA can provide complete corporate accountancy, tax advisory, and related financial management and advisory services for private and public companies.

Strategic Relations — CAPPA directors have broad domestic and international experience in both the private sector and government, and can help clients establish new relationships and foster existing relationships with strategic partners to further their mission and objectives.

Government Advocacy — CAPPA, through a network of relationships with Congress, the White House, and federal agencies, can advise and assist clients further their government relations. When required, CAPPA representatives can register with Federal, State & Local governments on behalf of a client. CAPPA lobbying services include issue monitoring, legislative action consulting, implementing and managing effective coalitions, and providing access to and organizing meetings with political decision makers.

Government Appropriations — CAPPA has expert understanding of the complicated appropriations process and can assist clients in creating public-private partnerships with the federal government to secure federal funding. CAPPA works to identify objectives and develop specific proposals that merit congressional funding, and presents the proposals to key members and staff of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees. CAPPA assists clients with administrative and federal agencies to ensure efficient and effective assignment and disbursement of funds.

Corporate Communications — CAPPA provides clients a full range of communication services including Media Relations, Crisis Communications, and Editorial Services. Whether the need is to be proactive or reactive, we work together to create a public affairs strategy and a solid communications plan. Our services include drafting of press releases, position papers, opinion pieces and other company collateral communication devices. Through our network of media and public affairs contacts, we provide a focused message, and develop and enhance key public affair relationships that further a client's mission and objectives. In some cases, we can act as a liaison between clients and the media, providing access while minimizing client exposure.

Department of Energy Loan Guarantees and Grants — CAPPA's senior finance and energy experts that include former DOE officials, CFA charter holders and CFA candidates (supported by an active advisory board) provide a broad range of critical financial advisory services to mobilize financing in emerging markets and for emerging technologies, specifically clean energy technologies. The type of financial support includes: business development seed money, export working capital, vendor financing, insurance, guarantees and turnkey project financing. CAPPA's members have advised clients such as the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Electric Power, the International Chamber of Commerce, AIG, AT&T Broadband, U S WEST International, Pratt & Whitney, MediaOne International, Freddie Mac, Corning and Orbital Inc., Zions Wind, the city of Pleasant Grove and several clean energy companies currently applying to use DOE's loan guarantee program. CAPPA is the founding member of the International Clean Energy Alliance (www.ice-alliance.org) along with GE, the Nuclear Energy Institute and others focusing on deploying and financing U.S. clean energy technologies abroad.
